Name change FAQs

On 29 July 2022, our name changed to SEFE Energy.  Our new company name is SEFE Energy Limited.

Below we’ve provided answers to some common questions about our recent name change and will update this page should anything change.

If you’re a SEFE Energy customer or third-party intermediary and you have a question that isn’t answered below, please contact your account manager at SEFE Energy or use the form on our contact us page to get in touch.

Any press enquiries can be submitted via our contact us page.

Why have you changed name to SEFE Energy?

We have been under the fiduciary management of the Bundesnetzagentur, Germany’s Federal Network Agency, since 4 April 2022. The very purpose of the trusteeship was, and continues to be, to ensure the security of supply of Europe’s energy markets. Subsequently all business activity conducted is consistent with this overarching objective and the name change to SEFE Energy (with ‘SEFE’ standing for Securing Energy for Europe) is consistent with this.

Has your parent company also changed name?

Yes, our immediate parent company is now SEFE Marketing & Trading Limited (SM&T) which was formerly Gazprom Marketing & Trading Limited. SM&T’s parent company is SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE) which was formerly Gazprom Germania GmbH.

What does the name change mean for the day to day running of SEFE Energy?

This change indicates we are entering a new chapter, one we are all very excited about, but it does not impact our day to day operations. We are in the process of updating our associated details, such as website addresses, across all touch points and communications.  This will take us some time.

Are any other company details changing? (e.g. address, phone numbers, bank details)

For now, all our contact information remains the same because our email addresses have not changed yet.  We expect this to happen by the end of September.  Our website is now www.sefe-energy.co.uk and all our old URLs have been redirected.

The name on our bank account has changed to SEFE Energy Limited but no other bank details have changed.

What is your new email address?

We are in the process of creating our new SEFE Energy email addresses, but this is going to take some time. We expect this to happen by the end of September.

Why have your email addresses not changed?

Our email addresses are used across lots of different systems and therefore the change to new email addresses requires extensive planning and testing which is underway.
