Our journey to sustainability

We understand the world is changing rapidly – from attitudes to the climate and environment, to fast-paced technology and an evolving energy landscape.

That means business is changing too. This is a chance to do things differently – to truly care about the impact we have on the world and start to make a difference.

It’s a challenge, but one we’re tackling with big and small change across our business. From lower carbon products for our customers to upgrading our energy supply to renewables.

We all have a responsibility to be part of the change. And we started by listening, to our customers and employees, so we can give them what they need.

We now offer a range of lower carbon products and certifications so our customers can meet procurement demands, demonstrate their eco-credentials, reassure their stakeholders and push change down the supply chain. We can source certificates from projects like Rimba Raya, a carbon offsetting product protecting the forest, wildlife and communities of Indonesia. And we’re endlessly searching for new ways to bring businesses greener gas and electricity.

But sustainability isn’t just about reducing our carbon footprint, the UN Development Goals are clear on that. We’re joining a movement to make the world a better place, to openly show we’re ready for change and operating in a more ethical way.

We know thinking about our impact isn’t good enough. We have to act. And we’re transforming our approach to the planet, our people and beyond, one step at a time. We’re on the first step of a long journey but here are just some of the changes we’re making today.

  1. Silver medal accreditation by sustainability ratings provider, EcoVadis.
  2. Investors in People Gold accreditation.
  3. Sustainability policies built into everyday working.
  4. Lower carbon products, carbon offsetting and biodiversity options.
  5. Reducing our own impact by using renewable energy sources.
  6. A workplace built around policies that help and support our employees.
