Details announced for the UK government’s Energy Bill Relief Scheme

The UK government’s Energy Bill Relief Scheme was announced on 21 September, outlining the government-led Scheme to support businesses and organisations throughout the winter period.

Through the scheme, the UK government will provide a discount on Wholesale Gas and Electricity unit prices for non-domestic energy consumers across Great Britain. The Scheme will run from 1 October 2022 – 31 March 2023.

The Support will automatically be applied to all eligible customers and bills. Customers do not need to take action or apply for the discount. The first discounts will be applied to October invoices, which customers will receive in November 2022.

At SEFE Energy, we’re fully supportive of the government’s proposal and will participate in the Scheme alongside other B2B suppliers in the industry. We will continue to share updates about the Scheme as more information is made available.

Please note, the Scheme for deemed contract or are out of contract customers will be confirmed by the UK government in the coming days. If you believe you this applies to your business, please check back soon for more information.
