A thank you from our CSO

Dear Customers and Partners, 

As we approach the end of 2025, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your trust, your collaboration, and the many open and constructive conversations we shared throughout the year. 

2025 came with declining natural gas prices and a lower level of market volatility, which brought a sense of stability into the market. However, the year was far from calm since other elementary dynamics remained in motion. The overall competitive environment was intense. Demand patterns continued to change in different sectors, as some industries improved energy efficiency or even shifted parts of their production activities to other regions. Decarbonisation was discussed with a much larger focus on economic viability.    

In this market environment, decisions were again guided by three well-established priorities: reliable supply, affordable energy, and continued progress on decarbonisation. The strongest emphasis was on security of supply and affordability. Decarbonisation remained important, but with a clear expectation that solutions must be both cost-effective and feasible. 

For us, it continued to be vital to take responsibility when markets became more dynamic, and to focus on those capabilities that matter most in a supply partnership: reliability, stability and cost-effectiveness. We further broadened and diversified our global supply portfolio and maintained high flexibility in our supply structure.  In addition, we managed market risk actively within our portfolio, absorbed volatility and complexity on our side, translating them into clearer choices and better plannability for our customers 

The year reinforced the value of staying close to each other. Frequent conversations, early signals, and fast action made a real difference. That customer proximity is close to our heart and strongly shapes our partnerships. 

With strong agreement that decarbonisation must accelerate while staying pragmatic and affordable, we continued to advance carbon management, hydrogen and biomethane solutions to support both near‑term needs and mid‑term goals. Moreover, we expanded our footprint in Germany by entering the power market. Now, a growing number of our German customers choose to source electricity from SEFE, founded on our long-standing partnerships and the confidence that comes from reliable performance and straightforward collaboration. 

Looking ahead, the energy sector remains in transformation. We believe, the best outcomes arise from shaping that transformation together - openly, collaboratively, and with a clear focus on tangible results. We look forward to continuing this journey together with you in the years ahead.
